About Chaitanya Strouse, RYT 200:
Chaitanya
hails from the windy walks of Chicago:
growing up here, in the suburbs; and then
undergraduate schooling at
Northwestern. During the late summer
of 2008, he traveled to wind-swept
mountains of Colorado to study to become a
yoga instructor at Shoshoni Yoga
Retreat. There he completed his
CYT-200 Yoga Teacher & Level 1
Meditation Teacher training, as well as
studies in Pranayama, Anatomy, Ayurveda,
and Yogic Philosophy – studying with
Gayatri Daughtry, Swami Kripanada, and many
others. Since teaching at Chi-Town
Shakti – starting the day it opened – he
has taught Vinyasa, Sunrise Yoga, Kids’
Yoga, and so much more – including creating
the 108 Sun Salutation workshop
series. He loves using Yoga to
explore: to test the limits of endurance,
depth of comfort, and ability to focus
regardless of what else is going on.
“A natural joy arises from the quiet
within…” says Swami Devanada, and agrees
Chaitanya. Yoga should be fun: making
you lighter, brighter, and happier
inside. Elements of his classes often
include Storytelling, Chanting, Meditation,
Pranayama, Structural Awareness, and
Laughter.
