Akaram White, E-RYT 200, Meditation Teacher, Co-Owner, & Business Manager
About Akaram White, RYT 200:
It is best to be happy. Akaram trailed happiness in many ways through the years, chasing after fleeting moments of joy and simple contentment. Ultimately he was shown that his own happiness had a lot more to do with being and less with doing "A", "B", or "C". Yoga is an expression of the moment, a chance to focus your whole experience on the present as it happens. Akaram sought this in many ways through the years: in acting, revelries, arguing, etc. But the most reliable and consistent tool to bring him to this place was yoga and meditation. This what he tries to provide for his students through the challenges of working physically, controlling the rapid fluctuations of the breath, and by learning to center the mind on the moment and enjoy what is as oppose to hating what is not.
Akaram is a student and teacher in the Shambhava tradition. He has been practicing yoga and meditation since 2001 and been teaching ever since. He was trained by Bhakti in Chicago and at the Shoshoni Yoga retreat and Eldorado Yoga Mountain Ashrams in Colorado. Simplicity, focus and deep strengthening are how he has explored yoga and they are the things that he most likes to teach. Akaram likes to create a nurturing environment that challenges students and gives them a chance to focus on themselves, and then, enjoy.
